Filling for EB1-EA after filing for EB2-NIW

Hi folks,
I filled my EB2-NIW I-140 petition (self petition) around 3 months ago at NSC. So far I haven't received any news except a few updates in my case.
I am thinking to apply for I-140 EB1-EA with the hope that it either goes to TSC or get approved faster than NIW. I have been told that this makes no difference for me because I am not from retrogation countries.

What do you guys recommend? Is it a wise thing to do? Any suggestion? i appreciate your input.

Thanks,
EB2-NIW (NSC)

Two is better than one

Reza-EB2 NIW,

I would go ahead to file another EB1-EA I-140 if I were you. The reasons: (a) You might have an earlier approval or better luck with the new filing. (b) You might not receive an RFE with the new filing. After all, two is better than one. You would need to spend some time and money, but I believe it is absolutely worth getting an early I-140 approval.

In this forum I read a thread "NSC processing date for EB1-EA" written by "eb1-query". From his signature, I figured that he has just filed EB1-EA. You can ask her/him how and why he did it. Good luck!

Yes, I just applied for EB11 because it is current and NIW is not for my country. I can always apply for NIW but it does not make sense to me since it is stuck in 2002.

You mentioned in your response that NIW and retrogression in country-specific. What does this mean? How do I find out if my country is on that list, if I want to file for EB1-EA or EB2-NIW?
