Just came back from work and am elated at the developments. I am happy for all of us who have gone through lot of agony over many years due to retrogression. Now that it is time to file, I am thinking of filing I 485 myself as I am not sure if the lawyer will be able to prepare and send my application in time. I think most of the attornies will be busy with applications over the next 1 month. How are other members doing this. Gurus, please weigh in about the pros and cons.

Also it would help if we start thread for 485 filing documents/questions that would help all of us involved and as always any advice from the Gurus would be tremendously helpful.

The general school of thought is that USCIS looks less favorably upon I-485s filed without attorneys.

I would say be prepared for either way. Get ready to file it yourself, and get the attorney working on it. If by a certain date the attorney hasn't filed it, send it in yourself.

I will defintely use an attonery. After I received a copy of the filing paperwork (all together hundreds of pages with almost 5lbs). I think, this is a money well spent.

Well... first of all, you need to get a good attonery, right?

PS - I first got a very very bad attonery at NY. I fried her and get another one. It works out very professional and willing to answer my question in a timely manner like in a day or 2 max.
