Filing papers?

I am married and my wife is from Jamaica. We wanted to get her citizenship papers ready so we can go ahead and file them. We have been married for 6 months, but was told we should pay a lawyer around $2000 to take care of everything. The only thing is we don’t have that kind of money lying around.
I wanted to know how we would go about filing our selves, and was it wise to do so. Is there a web site I can go to and download the forms or have them mailed to me? Also is it a hard thing to do yourself?

I assume that you want to sponsor her for a Greencard

Ok, that is what I want to do. I talked to a lawyer once already and informed him about how much money I make, he stated that it is fine. I accully make more now, than I did when I talked with the lawyer.

Every lawyer that I talked to wanted all the money up front or said would take payments, but would not do anything until it was paid off. I understand about that, somebody getting there Greencard and then not paying.
