Filing Information required for Canadian Immigration

Hi all,

First of all, I dont know if this forum is right for my question or not. Sorry if not. But I am sure someone will guide me from here.

-I am in USA and my brother would like to settle in Canada. Can I file for him from USA and is there any advantages/disadvantages?

-Can someone guide me where to start for filing, means required forms, required documents, etc...

-How long it takes to finish the process?

-Any other ideas?

What do you mean by can I file for him?
1. Are you a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant?
If you are a Canadian Citizen, then you will have to submit
your application to the CPC in Mississauga, ON. If you are a
Canadian Landed Immigrant, first you have to reside in
Canada, and file the application to the CPC in
Mississauga, ON.

2. If your brother is in the US, then he has to file the application
on his own. You certainly can help him fill out the appliation.
If your brother is not in the US, then he has to submit his
application abroad!!

The above link explains the different classes. Read thru and see if your brother qualifies first.
