FIling I-485 (with approved I140 three years ago)

I worked for company "A" for about 3 years(1998 - 2001) , left the company "A" in June 2001 and joined in company "B" .
In October 2001, got I-140 approval from Company "A" . Can i file I-485 myself with approved I-140 with out any Company "A"s help. I really apprecitate if you share your knowledge on this.

Possibility is there ...but if you get RFE wrt to Company A..then..what's the solution?

Sure you can file from company A (for future employment if u are not an employee now). Remember the I140 is valid as long as the position it is approved for is existant.
