Filing I-485 in home country?

Hi,
   From what I understand, we can do the I-485 in our home countries\' Consulate. But someone told me recently that we can no longer do I-485 in our home countries because of the 9-11 event. Can someone give me some info on it? Thanks.

No Can Do

I-485 is "Adjustment of Status", meaning you must be in the US to file. 9/11 didn\'t change things at all in this regards. You must have been in the US to file.
