filing I-140

Hi, I just got my PERM certified, but I am not sure what does the i140 and i485 mean. Can someone explain what these 2 next steps involve, and long long approximatelly before I get a Green Card. Processing center Vermont. Also, what is an EAD?

apply immediately for 140 , if you are from nonretro country apply for 485, VSC takes 3-9 months to process 140, hire a lawyer if you donot know
 
LC approved but travel on the cards

Hi,

My LC was approved and my company is filing for my I140. I have travel to a foreign country on the cards for 1-2 years from the same company. Will this affect my I140 processing and in turn I485 filing. I am on L1 and it expires FEB '07.
