Filing I-130. Last name issue

Hi.
I am petitioning for my mother to move to the US. I am a US citizen.
Our passports' last names used to match but when my mom relocated from Kazakhstan to Russia, her transliterated last name in her passport slightly changed (they changed "y" to "i") . I have my birth certificate translated for the application with our last names matching (like it used to). Would there be a problem submitting evidence with our last names spelled slightly different? And would I need to get my birth certificate translated so that her last name on it would match her passport name?
I know it may sound a bit confusing but I just wanted to do the right thing. Thank you!

Last names don’t have to match. The important thing is proving the parent-child relationship. US embassies are used to seeing different transliterations into English from non-Latin alphabets. I don’t think any of this is worth worrying about.
