Filing I-129. However, my passport is not valid for the entire stay.

I-129 instruction states I must "include a full explanation with the petition." What do I say in that explanation? Something like "Employee will replace/extend his passport before it expires"?
Petition is for 3-year employment, passport expires few months before employment ends. Another question is, should my wife (filing I-539) include explanation for her passport, too?

we are encouraged to renew our passports during our entire stay of the 3-year employment, but upon application or filing of I-129, it doesn't have to be valid for the whole entire 3 years. You're okay, we had the same question when we filed for a renewal of I-129 a month ago, our passports will expire a year before the employment ends. It was approved. We went ahead after reading somewhere that it's ok to do so, just make sure of course that upon filing, the passports are still valid. In your case, you are good to go.
