Filing GC when spouse is laid off

Hi,
My husband and I are both on H1. I was recently laid off and I am looking for a job.
My husband wants to file for gc now. Is it necessary that We have to send papers for both of us for the initial filing?
I want to know whether he can file for gc now and send my papers later when i get a job?

I don\'t know the answer to your problem. However, I do know that it gets very confusing when there are two threads going about the identical question, from the same person.
