I am a Canadian on TN, married to USC on 10/25/08. We have finally gotten all the paperwork together and will be filing everything tomorrow (thanks to nkumar's very helpful DIY thread!).
My MIL has offered to buy us a caribbean cruise as a wedding present. It leaves on March 1, 2009. I have seen some timelines where people are getting their AP approved in ~2 months, but others who are waiting 4-5 months. I have also heard of people getting the AP expedited if they show proof of travel plans? (I thought that route could only be used in case of emergency?)
Refunds for the cruise can be received up until January 26, 2009. Should we get her to buy us the tickets and wait and see? I'm just curious what others here would do in this situation.
Also, if there is something wrong with the other paperwork and there is a RFE, will the application for AP be held up as well?
