Filing for N-400 while I-90 in progress

I am a GC holder and recently got married. I e-filed my I-90 to get the last name on my GC changed to my new married. Been almost 5 months now since I filed and the only thing I've received so far is the Receipt Notice. Anyway, technically I'm still using my maiden name in almost everything. (DMV won't let me change last name on driver's license unless I get GC changed) Since it's taking them forever to process my I-90, is it advisable to file for the N-400 in my maiden name and have it changed later OR wait 'till I get the I-90 taken cared of before I file my N-400. If I do choose to file my N-400 while I-90 is in progress, will that lengthen or complicate the processing of my N-400?

They (CIS) usually take 12 to 18 months to process I-90s. I know it is ridiculously long time but that is what is the reality. A friend of mine had to rplace his card due to incorrect spelling of his last name and he had to endure a 15 month wait to get replacement. Luckily he got his passport stamped to the effect that his replacement is in process and he could renew his driver's license using that stamp. But they renewed it only for the remaining part of validity period of the stamp as opposed to the usual 4 years. I do not have any knowledge about the impact of I-90 on N400.

My friend had gone to the District office in Pittsburgh to turn in the I-90 application form and they stamped it then. His service center was Vermont. If you have filed electronically then I don't know. But you can goto your local office in houston and try to get the stamp by showing them the receipt notice if you have one. I think you need to take an infopass to be entertained at your local office. Infopass can be obtained on USCIS website. Good luck.

TSC lists Jan 17, 2006 as currently processing for the I-90. Clearly less than 6 months...
The processing times are on the CIS website.
Do you honestly believe those processiong dates posted by CIS to be accurate and reflects the tru picture?

No ;) But they are a better approximation than the fairy tales they write on the receipt notices...

JoeF, so all in a sudden that USCIS is trustworthy? When do you decide if we should trust them or not? You seem to go from one extreme to another on any given minute.
