Hi I am filing for my mother and I have a question re: the forms. Do I need to submit I130,485 and the affidavit for support all at the same time or the affidavit of support can be filed later?

The Affidavit of Support must be filed with the I-485.

Hi Vandana,

If your mother is in India, then you just file I-130 and send it to the lockbox address in chicago specifically for stand alone I-130. The I-485 and affidavit of support are only filed when the beneficiary is in US. After you file your I-130 if your mother is in India then the National Visa Center will instruct you to file Affidavit of Support at a later time. People coming from India on I-130 do not have to file I-485 as that form is specifically for people adjusting status in US.
