Filing an Inquiry if application overdue

Hello Friends,

Can we share experiences and advice on filing an inquiry after your case is considered overdue.
E.g. 1. How long does INS take to respond to the inquiry?
2. Is the case actually looked at or do they just give you an update on why your case is overdue.
