Hi,

I am applying for my wife's citizenship. I know the USCIS accepts personal checks. However the check has my name on it and I am filing for my wife. Will this matter. Should the money order or check have the filer's name on it?

Thanks

It does not matter. Write your wife's name and A# on the memo line of the check.

By the way, if your wife application based upon marriage? If so, better have a joint bank checking account

USCIS doesn't care who/how is paying as long as:

1) Submitted with application
2) Amount is correct
3) Check doesn't bounce

I have same situation, I applied for myself & My wife, and I used my personal checks w/ my name printed on the checks for both of us, I just wrote name & A# for my wife on the check sent with her application and no issues

personal check is OK and better ..you can track it directly...just make sure you have sufficient funds in the account that you drow them from
