Filed I485 but did not receive ceceipt yet

I filed (Sent) my I485 to INS on 20th July but did not yet received the receipt or notice. How long does it take to reply the receipt? How do I check that INS received my I485 or not? My attorney is telling me to wait for some more time.
Your help is appreciated.
