Filed I-485. Wedding is the Q?

Hi e1,

I have my labor priority date for March 2002.

Applied for I-140 and I-485 in April 2004 (almost after 2 years)

Now with retrogression, applications with priority date of Jan 2002 are being processed.

I'm still single and my attorney advised me to get married before 485 approval, can anyone please suggest the latest month/yr I should get married by? Tentatively, when can I expect my 140/485 approvals?

Any help/suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

As I understand, with retrogression, they are picking up applications with PD of Jan 02 and process all 140/485s applied till date. Once that is done they'll pick up applications of PD Feb 02 and process all 140s and 485s pertaining to this lot ans so on.
Please clarify my understanding of the retrogression concept. Thnx much!

LEt us see the weather. Oh it is already half winter over. So you should get married as quickly as possible before winter is over.

Retrogression date may move forward in month of March/April 2005 (hopefully) and your PD date is just on the edge.... there are very high chances your I-140/I-485 may be processed very soon (if your FP and Name check has been cleared).

Your attorney is correct.... you may want to get married and file your spouses I-485 before your GC approval.
