Filed I-485, can I-765 be filed w/o receipt notice?

Gurus,

I have already filed I-485 (and in USCIS jargon pursuant to Visa Bulletin 107). I still havent received the receipt notice and hence do not have a LIN #. I now intend to file EAD as well, is it possible?

Going through the recent USCIS releaeses

USCIS will accept paper filing (at older fee) of EAD from applicants who filed I-485 between Jul 2 and Jul 17, till Aug 17. I dont fall in this category since my I-485 was filed last week.

So is my understanding correct that i cant file for EAD till I get my receipt notice?

Appreciate insights.

PS: Apologies to people visiting multiple forums, I had this query posted on I-485 general issues as well.
 
Old Fees

You can file with old fees until Aug 17th as per 2nd FAQ.
I am not sure though if you can file using Fedex proof of delivery and the location where it needs to be sent.

Please update if you know about it.
