Hi,
I have lived in the US for 7 years on H4 visa. In the 7th year extension this year, a company was ready to file for my H1B visa. The lawyers told me that 6 year rule applies to H1B and not H4. So, u should be fine. My H1B petition
was filed on June 8, 2005. It has been more than 12 weeks and I have not heard anything from the INS - neither approval, denial or inquiry.
I just want to know if my H1B is even possible? And if it is, is there anything I can do to find out why is it taking so long. Was I able to make it in this year's quota? And if it is not possible, can I do something about the lawyers who misguided me?
