Filed Adjustment and CP Followup for wife

Hello All

I did my AOS with RD 07/11/2001 ND 08/28/2001 FP 02/11/2002. I am waiting for Approval. In the meantime I rushed to my country and did a register marriage and plan to do Consular processing for my wife. I have NOT so far got the approval (BTW I called the IIO about my case today and they asked me to call in 4 to 6 weeks). If i get the approval do you have any idea how I process for my wife. I was told by my attorney that i gotta wait for my approval notice and thats when i can do cp to my wife. In the mean time I was discouraged by my friends that it will take 3 years for me to bring my wife if I do that. Can anyone help me in this regard. I would appreciate if someone who had done the same(Consular processing follow-up for the wife) could post their experience. Also please give the time lines (months or years) for processing.

Don\'t know about CP but for I-485 you should bring her here and file 485 ASAP

Filing for dependent!

Try to bring her here ASAP, and file for her. When the Primary\'s AOS is not yet approved, then the dependent\'s application is received, she will be in status and they will process her case.If u can manage to file her papers even just before u\'r case has been approved, she is safe. if a nonfrivilous petition has been filed for dependent, when the primary\'s case has not yet been approved or denied,then she is in status till they approve or deny her case, that\'s the rule. Even u could\'t do it, then CP will do.(sorry don\'t know much about CP).
