I would really appreciate if anyone can reply me.

I filed my I-485 (employment bassed) in March 2003 with Vermont service center then in Oct 2004 my file was transferred to Washington DC local office for the scheduling of an interview. I was waiting and waiting for an interview then just yeterday I got update that my file has been sent back to Vermont Service Center and it was written that it is taking between 365 and 540 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. I am not sure why it has gone back to Vermont from Washington DC office.

I called National Customer Service Center at (800) 375 5283 today and was being told by the office that now they are processing cases as of Dec 2004 and as my filed date is march 2003 so probably my file will be processed quickly and if I don't receive any notice within 60 days I can call back and they will initiate an inquiry.

What you think that will I have to wait another 365-540 days after already waiting for 3 years or I can receive any response in next 60 days.

Please help me with your valuable suggestion.. please

Thanks,
Ismail.

hi there.

there are many in the same situation as you. New York and Washington district offices sent back thousands of 485 application back to VSC for processing. they will review them and decide whether they can adjudicate without an interview.

anyone's guess how long this will take.

I-485 back in Vermont?

I have a similar situation. My case was filled in 2003. On December 8 2004 it was sent to local ofiice in New York and i had to wait to schedule an interview. After a year of waiting the message on the internet (case status online) says that "the case was received here for processing..." and the rest the same like in the thread above. I dont know where is "here". I hope that it is Vermont and that it wont take a long time. Does enybody know how many green cards they will give and how long it may take??? Does the fingerprints expire, do we have to do them again. Thanx for your responses...

Similar situation here. Case was transferred to local office in Vermont in June from CA. I filed 485 in Sept 2004.

A week back, I got email saying the case has been trasnferred to Vermont Service Center on Sept 21. Before that I got RFE in Aug 2005 which was received back by USCIS in Sept 2005.

Not sure what is going on...Email in Dec for transfer in Sept
