MY WIFE CALLED IIO at NSC {1800XXXX} , IIO told to MY WIFE LIKE our files has been transfered to local INS office in SFO and gave sfo office address to contact .

when MY WIFE explained to IIO about FP is going to expire in 15 days, IIO gave reply like since file has been tansfered to local office, we don't know anything about FP.

did any body has same experience with IIO'S recently, I am curious what exactly that TRANSFER to local means.

patha, transfer means, you can expect an interview sometime soon.

BTW, SFO isn't that bad for waiting times as far as transfers go.

Thats strange did you change your job/address or something like that to trigger a transfer? . I assume you are a Dec 2001 case which means have they touched December .. interesting.Anyway no harm call SFO and find out.Plus I noticed your Notice Date is 6th December and Recd date is 16th is it mixed up?

thanks to sm , soumy

we had two different addresses in INS file,BECAUSE both of us were on H1'S When we filed our 485's, but no address change or job change.
do you think is it right time to change my address to match her address.

I would also recommend trying the 949 number at CSC to cross verify ,that way u can be sure that the transfer news is correct and can prepare accordingly.

Crosscheck cannot hurt, though I don't see why NCSC would lie ( I think you mean NCSC and not NSC).

Even somebody has same experience with IIO, it would not matter what matter most is that if really your case has been transferred to local INS office at SFO if yes than sure you will have interview.
You will come to know in a week or so, normally you will get a notice from NSC saying

"On May xx, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in SAN FRANCISCO, CA for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in SAN FRANCISCO, CA will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the NCSC at (800) 375-5283"

For FP don't worry whenever INS will open your file they will send you 2nd FP notice.

Waiting time for interview could be between 2-8 months, its all depends on your luck. But one thing you can try go to local INS office at SFO in person and ask about your case.

Try calling NSC and CSC, see if you get the same reply, but it is not necessary that if you don;t get same reply than you are sure that case has not been transfer. Even after that you need to wait for a week or two.
