Hello everybody:
I filed my I-485 in feb 2001 (ND 2/21/2001). On Nov 19/2003 TSC opend (it seems) my file and realized FP were expired (first FP 3/30/2001). They sent me a notification for for FP and also mentioned that they need new FP to process my application. I did my second FP on Jan 3, 2004. On Jan 16, 2004, TSC sent me a notification saying they transferred my file to Lincoln, NE for speedup the process. How long will NSC takes to process transfers? Now I am planning to renew my EAD. Should I send my EAD application to TSC or NE?

Anybody in the same boat. I would very much appreciate your comments/suggestions.

Sincerely,

Has been waiting

What is the exact language did they use in your on-line status or transfer notice? Your case was transfer to NSC or one of their office/local office? Is your current address anywhere near Lincoiln, NE? Please clarify?

File Transfer from TSC to Lincoln NE

Hi:
I am currently residing in GA and I believe my local INS office is Atlanta. I did not know, TSC has one local office in Lincoln. NE.

The mail notice I received says " it is adviced to inform you that your file is transferred to Linclon NE for speedup the process of I 485 application to register PR.. The office will notify you the decision. for further inquiries, call NCS center...

Application status online says "On January 16, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in LINCOLN, NE for processing. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times.
I was expecting my I485 application to be processed by TSC in the month of Nov/Dec. Now I am passed their (TSC/NSC)processing time. Hopefully, I should hear from them soon.

TSCGC2001,

I did not know, TSC has one local office in Lincoln. NE.

How come TSC has a local office in Lincoln, NE? Is it actually the Nebrasca Service Center?

My spouse's case was transferred to a district office some 400 miles away from our place. The language in the on-line message and transfer notice is very similar to what you have. We just paid a visit to our local office and found out the actual file had not reach there yet. But anyhow, the office told us he would request the file and we could go back to make another inquire after two weeks.

You may consider to visit you local office to make an inquire about your transfer, if the office is not too far away. At least, it is better to know something about what's happening for your case as compared to sitting in the dark.

Thanks TSC 2003

Hi TSC2003
Thanks for your suggestion. Nebraska is very far far away from GA. I would assume a two day drive from my place. I will try to use some other alternative sources? May be I should go to local congressman?. I already made a status request with 1800-service. its almost close to a month. Let me see what I receive.

TSC to VSC

My case transfered to a local office in VSC. Online message says. Yet to receive the notice.

After waiting for 2.75 years, TSC decided to transfer my case as my company office was located in Virginia at that time.

Now after two takeovers, I have the same job and position. But the my original company immigration staff and the immigartion attorneys have changed. Also the company is now based in Chicago.

Not sure what would be my priority there. Will they keep RD/ND of SRC or give a new number EAC and new dates etc??

TSCGC2001,

It will take about 1 month for file transfer and I suppose you have to apply your EAD to NE.
My case was transferred to Houston and I got AP at Houston
district afterthat.

Hi all:
Thanks for sharing your opinions. I am still waiting to receive file status from NE service center. However, I did apply for my EAD to the TSC.

TSCGC2001, you are not alone

Our I485 cases was transferred to San Antonio early Feb (RD Oct 01). and just recently my lawyer informed me that our I-485 cases were transferred again to Nebraska Service Center. No transfer notice, so I dont know the exact word. Reason? No one knows. I am still in TX, no job change, no address change. It was requested by NSC according to SA office. I called 1800# and was told cases are still in SA. I dont even know where is our files now. My daughter's case is still with TSC, so SA send request to TSC to transfer it to NSC to be with us. What a mess! I tried to contact the 1800# twice to confirm my address and was told by the person on the phone that he/she can't view my address on file. The lady in 1800# even try to convence me that the whole transferring to NSC as well as seperating my daughter's case with us is "normal", even though SA office acknowledged they dont know what is going on and why NSC requested our files.

The 1800 # is completely useless and wast of time.

Meanwhile, I file my EAD renewal with TSC and was transferred to SA recently. Don't know what SA is going to do with my EAD.

I think there are some files like us were transfered to NSC from TSC for whatever the reason. Just hope NSC open our files soon.

The bad thing is NSC is taking its own sweet time to process the transferred files. As per one officer guessing at NCS, NSC might take 6 to 9 months to process 485 application.
After 7 months at TSC, my Advance parole application recently transferred to NSC for processing. Online message says it takes 455 days to process AP application at NSC.

I guess we have to be mooooooooore patient (not to go crazy)and watch the dramatic things INS doing with our files. I am sure one day INS too would get tired of this transferring business and approve our applications.

Sick and tired

How do you managed to talk to an officer at NSC? I simply just try to confirm that our files are with NSC and could not even do that.

Thanks,

TSC77
I requested national customer service person to connect me to an officer who has access (computer) to my files. I was then connected to an officer whose location I was not sure. He talked to me nicely. Not to disappoint me (I guess), he gave me some processing times. I have no idea whether he was correct or not.

Goodluck to all of us

SpeedUp Processing or SlowDown Processing?

TSCGC2001,

Dude, My case just got transferred to NSC as well from TSC. Its been more than 2 months since your case got transferred to NSC and no response for you from NSC. Well...I am exactly 2 months behind you...welll...atleast i know they will touch my file 2 months after they touch yours at NSC. Do keep us posted as to what happens to ur case.

Transfer

This morning, online message for my 485 says "file has been received on April 2, 2004. It takes 990 to 999 days to process such applications". It seems that my has been transferred one more time to some other location for further processing. I just hope that the time period they are talking on message is not true.

  :D

tscgc2001

looks like ur case was sent back to tsc...990 to 999 days is the langauge used by tsc...i guess the nsc guys realized that georgia does not fall under nsc's jurisdiction, rather it falls under tsc's jurisdiction...the real question is why on earth did tsc send it to nsc, they should have sent it to a local office in georgia. well...anywayz i am just guessing...i bet you will receive a paper confirmation in the coming days...thanks for the update and plz do keep us updated for any new developments.

later.

Finally got it approved

Dear all:

Few minutes ago (Thursday evening), I checked my my status Online and it says mine and my wife case both have been approved on April 7. Thank god and everybody else on the forum.

I owe a big thanks to my local congressman's office for chasing our 485 files during unthinkable transfers. The office talked to various INS people and emphasized that our files were over due for approval. Though I did not communicate with the congressman's office for the past four weeks, I still believe that the office's intervention played a big role in the approval of cases.

I also thank the forum for encouragement, moral support and valuable information.

:D :D

YIPEE!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!

Your case got transferred from TSC to NSC on Jan 16th, mine got transferred Feb 26th. I knew I was right behind you...so now that you are approved, I am just gonna wait and hope my turn comes soon.

Have fun.

BTW....did u ever figure out why your message changed last week to that 990-999 days mumbo jumbo...did nsc actually send it back to tsc?

good luck to you

Yesterday, I called to thank my congressman's office. They mentioned to me that although online meesage says that my file was transferred to NSC, it was not not transferred to NSC (I guess by mistake) and stayed at TSC. Only my wife's application was transferred to NSC. I guess all this time NSC was waiting for my file to be received to process our applications.

When the congressman's office talked to them about our cases, TSC decided to do it by themselves, hence requested NSC to transfer my wife's file back to TSC. So that TSC could process both files together.

Your guess was right. The language of the message is TSC's. I guess that 990 to 999 days is a default message.

if your file had been transferred properly, I believe, you should be receiving your approvals sooner than your guess.

I wish you all the best and goodluck. If I can be any help, please let me know.

:p :p
