Ask yourself another question: Is it lost?
If it was misdircted to the citizenship queue ( or any other ...)instead of I-485, then they would take it ( or plan to...) from there to the right place.
When anyone says "It's misdirected" the implication is that it's known where it was wrongly directed to...
May be you shouldn't wait for 30 days and do something, like call again, explain your concern and ask for help...
