File for i-485 with previous job's i-140?

I am a Sr. Prog Analyst at Company B and I joined this company in Aug 2001. Before joining Company B, I was employed at Company A. I worked at Company A in a position similar to that of Company B.

I have an approved I-140 (michigan) through Company A. I had to leave Company A right after I got my I-140 approved.

Is it possible for me to file for I-485 either on my own or through Company B (my current employer)?

If you can get emoployment letter from Company A

According to INS rule, you cannot file 485 using compnay B document. But if you can get employment letter from Company A and file 485, the GC process continues. This is me 2 cents.
You may consult a lawyer about this and think about if you can get such employment letter from A which is needed for 485.:cool:
