I am a US citizen. My son came to the US as a refuge with Alien number in 1996 with all documents. But his Birthday was wrong on his birth certificate and on the paper I file. There is an eight year different between our calendar year (Ethiopian) and American calendar; even some times it could be nine or seven. I learn all this because of the problem I have, I do not have any knowledge in the past. When we file for his green card we just change it to the correct one and send the application. They took his finger print and everything. During the interview he ask us why we change the age I told him instead of adding eight years, we add only 4years and that takes down 4year out of his age. I provide this with my writing and the officer told us to get a birth certificate from Ethiopia we get one and mail it to them no respond for the last 3years. Imagine if he is not under my help, what is going to happen it is not fair they do not even respond for our letters. please someone help.
