file for AOS or Consular

Hi,

I am living outside USA, and my earlier employer in USA had file my GC. He just came back saying that i have cleared my LC and he will file m,y I140.

My Q is when i file for I140 i have to provide detrails whether i will do AOS or Consular. Is it because now i am outside USA , i can do only Consular!!

Can i do AOS , like after my I140 goes thru can i come to USA and file for AOS?
