Fiancé Visa (K1) or Spousal Visa (K3)?

Hey folks -

I am a US citizen and I plan to go to India in December to meet the girl that I will be marrying. Around March/April next year I plan to go back to India again, this time to marry her. With that being said, the questions I have are the following:

Do you know how long is it taking in real life to process Fiancé Visa (K1) from the day I apply?

Do you know how long it takes in real life to process Spousal Visa (K3)?

I am aware of DCF but I am not comfortable using that method.

My plan was to go meet her in December and than apply for Fiancé Visa (K1) that way the paper work has already started and even if the wedding date gets pushed back a few months that won't impact the time of my spouse being here.

FYI: I live close to a Delhi Consulate (if that matters).

I would appreciate your answers to the questions I asked above. Also, please include your thoughts and advice. Thanks in advance!

Which service center do you come under? DCF is ruled out as you are not a US citizen resident in India. K3 is taking approximately 8 - 12 months currently.

PD - I thought K3 would only take about 3 - 4 months as the applicant is not waiting for the I-130 approval? Please share any information you have on the recent K3 timelines...

I come under the USCIS California Center.

K3 processing have been slowed down considerably as the staff has been reassigned to work on other cases. They are currently approving cases from April and is will take approximately 8 - 12 months from filing I 130 to getting an Interview overseas. I 130's are getting approved faster, though that avenue would still end up taking approximately 8 months.

K1 takes approximately 3 months from filing to an Interview overseas.

guys,

If a person has applied for I-130 and following K3 I-129F in VSC in US, can he still apply for DCF in india through the emergency criteria. showing some valid emergency documentation.?
