"fees were waived" meaning after asylum interview

Asylum filed in 2016 Arlington ( VA)
case transferred to San Fransisco 2017
Asylum Interview june 2023
message received Fees were waived July 2023 for "Application for employment authorization " but I did not file for a new EAD becuase exsiting one is valid till end of 2024

what does it mean??
