Feb 2007 - NC pending as per Newark / NC done as per NSC

I applied for N400 in Feb 2007, and fingerprinted in March 2007. I am still waiting for my IL.

In October 07 and Jan 08 I called NSC and they told me that my name check is done. In Jan 2007, I also received a letter from USCIS stating that local office will schedule my intervie.

When I called NSC in May 08, they opened a referral for Newark office. But Newark send me a ltter stating that name check is not done and should wait for 6 months.

I am really confuse, on Jan 08 referral they tell me local office will schedule an interview, local office tells me name check is not cleared.

Any suggestions.....

If the DO is close by you should do an Infopass and ask them. Take that letter with you as the cause for concern.
 
I took the infopass and talked to the DO, but they say that the sytems on there end is showing name check pending....so they cannot do anything...
Do you think, I can write to Ombudsman....will be of any help
 
Write to the ombudsman surely, this is the one person inside the agency who can really help people who are stuck.

You could also start trying to get help from your congressperson but they may or may not be of help. Typically they help those who have been already interviewed but didn't get oath( from what has been posted in the forum ).
 
It sucks man.
I wrote a letter to Congressman and Senator, no reply for lst 2 months.
Sent a letter to Ombudsman, waiting for a reply.

Me and my wife applied on same day, she got the IL about a year back.
