Feb 2002 GC waiter - Question

Hello everyone,

I have recently started following this site and it has been a source of great information and help to me. Thanks to Rajiv Khanna and all of you that make this concept work.

My dilemma is this: I work for a contracting company. This is the sponsoring company that applied for my AOS. My RD is in Feb 2002 and I do not anticipate receiving my GC for another 3-4 months at least! I am getting a great offer to join another company on a permanent basis. I do not want to let such a great opportunity pass me by, if there is not much risk involved in switching companies immediately after receiving GC.

I read other posts that said that you have to stay with the sponsoring company at least six months after approval. What are the complications if I do not stay and what is the probability that I will get burnt? Gurus, please advise. Appreciate your time and effort.

Thank you all...

same boat ,

I switched recently, client wanted me to join them and had waited long enough. I have not notified BCIS of change.

It may be a better idea to use AC21 and switch before getting the GC if you really want to switch and notify BCIS (this may trigger rfe delays) or you could switch and not notify unless a rfe is issued.

the only issue people refer to when one switches right after getting GC is at the time you apply for citizenship, at that time bcis may say you did not intend to work for your sponsoring employer and your case may be deemed fraudulant. I personally haven't heard of any case where this has happened.
