I've been trying to email FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov and fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov since yesterday 4/19/2005 to check on my name check status. Each time I received a automatic response from postmaster@ic.fbi.gov saying my emailed failed. Here's the following message I received from the postmaster:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

Anyone having the same trouble emailing to that account?
 
This e-mail address worked a few months ago (I have sent enquiry in October 2004, got e-mail response in February 2005). Obviously the address has been changed or they do not want e-mail enquiries anymore, since they are probably swamped with them - took months for reply). I found their phone number somewhere in this forum and called this mornong. A very kind lady replied and I could find out about the FP status. The phone number is 1 304 625 2000. The operator will answer and transfer you to the automatic line where you will choose the "private individual ... fingerprinting" option. Then the FBI officer will pick up the phone and ask you for your visa number (beginning with Axxxxxxxx) and name and give you the answer. No hussle at all.

I just called the number it was so cool and easy. The lady I spoke was very very professional and courteous. Absolutely no problem.

I called the number, but it is only for FP result. I was told we need to call 202-324-3000 for name check result. I called but nobofy answered.
 
same problem here

I called the number this morning, they can only check for FP result. So there is no way to find out the name check result now?
 
I emailed my name check request to this email address today. My email was not being returned.

I guess this email address still works.
 
I called this number 202-324-3000 today. It reached the correct place but the lady who answered the phone refused to give me any information. She said you have to send an email. When I told her that I had already sent an email in Jan, she said that they are currently processing the emails received in Dec 2004 and I have to wait for another two months before I get a response.

That is correct. I sent an email to them on Dec 8th and I heard back from them on Friday afternoon (4/23/05).

IT seems like we are allowed to send them email only once. After the second time on, your email gets bounced back -- it's their way of reducing email backlog, I guess.
 
The system was actually down for a few days I think. I kept sending(my 1 and only inquiry) and it kept getting bounced. Then I called the 202 area code number and the lady told me it was down. I emailed a day or two later and it got through.

Hi sjariffu,

how did you word the email? Did you just ask of Name Check process has been completed for your case and then provide all the necessary info like receipt #, A#, etc.

Yes you should provide all you have listed + date of birth. All best.
