FBI Secondary Security Check

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I received a letter from the Senator's office alongwith the letter from BCIS addressed to Senator. The letter says my case is pending since a response from FBI regarding Secondary Security Check is still awaited. Does anybody know what is this Secendory Security Check and how long it takes for FBI to conduct this exercise? Incidentally, I am not subject to Special Registration.

I had my second fingerprinting in April 2003 and I confirmed by calling the FBI that they have already sent the result to INS on the day I was fingerprinted. I am at a loss to comprehend what this Secondary Security Check is and when will its result be available to BCIS.

I had my Interview in the beginning of January 2003 at BCIS Chicago and still awaiting the outcome.

Receipt Date: June 2001

I'm so sorry to hear your story. That really sucks! What country are you from, if you don't mind?
I hope everything works out for you soon!

My guess is there're several steps of security check, first level, 85% ppl passed(just by name search). 15% go to second level(by adding birthday). FBI then cleared 14% of it. Only 1% left for more scrutiny.

There was a congressional statement by FBI posted on this board. Search for it. Tells you more about name check

Dengdeng,
Can you please clarify as what are your sources for getting these percentages? These are very valuable and very well taken by us in this forum.
