So does approval of either I-485 or I-130 indicates that FBI name check has been completed?

I-130 approval only establishes a relationship and issues an immigrant visa number for the I-485 processing/adjudication. It has nothing to do with FBI check.

The I-130 is sent to the service center and I-485 is sent to the DO and they both follow a different timeline. There are times when the I-485 interview is scheduled but the I-130 is still not adjudicated. So, if by the time of interview the I-130 is still not approved then it would be adjudicated during the time of interview along with the I-485.

I see. Well, I filed concurrently for my parents with the DO, which doesn't even have a timeline for I-130. Anyhow, I never got an approval for I-130, nor did the immigration officer mention about it at the interview. So, I am assuming there was no problem establishing the relationship between me and my parents, which means the I-130 was approved (at this point I am not sure when?).
