FBI name/Date of birth check?

Contacted a senator and got a letter from him yesterday saying my I-485 is pending for FBI name/Date of birth checking. Really don't know what it means...

But the senator did manage to have my EAD and AP approved.

FP: 4/02
FP: 7/03
RFE: 12/03
AP: ??

Which EAD, AP did the senator get approved and how do you know that the senator was the cause?
What was ur RFE about?
