FBI Name Check?

hi Gurus,

What does FBI name check mean?.... i got a call from my senators office and the service center had apparently told them that my case was pending for name check from the FBI and have asked them to touch base in 30 days...


My question is does that mean that all the other processing complete and they are just waiting for the name check to complete?... and do they really mean 30 days...

Any experiences... views?

Name Check

I had the same experience "waiting for name check". There is no time limit. I received a reply from INS stating it takes an "indefinite" amount of time. My FP2 was done on Oct 20, 2003 and still waiting because of name check.

485 RD Dec 5, 2001, FP1: May 2002, FP2, Oct 2003.

I am still waiting for name check, they told me that my wife name check is completed and just waiting for my name check.

How do you know you are waiting for name check? Please tell me where can I get those information?

I've done FP2 Oct 03, right now case status still showing the old FP1.

Please advise.
