FBI name check time line?

Hi

I had my AOS interview and my I 130 was cleared. But the 485 could not be approved as the FBI name check data had not come through. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for this to go thru. I had my finger printing in february of 2004. The officer at the time of the AOS said she had no idea when it will come.

any help would be appreciated.

I had my interview in the mid of Sept. 2003 and my name was cleared on April.1,2004. So you could tell it took about 6 months in my case.

But I believe that the timeline has to be decided on case by case basis. Some people could have names cleared with a month, some peole have to wait for a year. My judgement is that the average will take about 6 months.

FBI namecheck timeline

You could call FBI to see if your name is cleared or not. Leave a message to FBI and FBI will reply to you in about a week. That is at least my case.

We Passed the interview in Dec 2003 at Philly, still waiting for the name check from FBI. Do you have any idea how long it takes? Someone mentioned that you can call FBI to check if your name check is done. What is the number to call ???

Yes, do you have the number? I'd like to call and find out about it. I had an interview on Feburary 2003 and sill haven't got a GC!!!
