FBI Name Check Status HELP!!!

I have a I-485 dated June 2004 and submitted FPs in July 2004 . The attorney says that the I-485 case needs FBI name check to be finished . It's more than a year I'm waiting. :(

Does any one know:
How can I track my status in FBI name check?
Is there anything that the attorney can do to help me go through this?
Any similar experiences?

Hi Katatyoon,

You may request a name check status by emailing your case details to FBI. Try this email ID: fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

Also you can call up at 202-324-2399 which I believe is the FBI inquiry phone no. Let us know if you recieved any response.

You might want to check the following thread: http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=136848. The FBI responds to the e-mail inquiries in more then 6 months now days. That's if they still respond to the e-mails. According to some postings, they stopped responding to e-mail inquiries. You would get a faster response (1-2 months) if you ask for your senator or congressman's help.
 
Does anyone know if our namecheck procedure is different from the visa namecheck? From one of the memo, the FBI says that the namecheck should all be done within 90 days and I think this is really for the visa namechecks. For the GC namecheck, it takes about 1 to 2 or even 3 years. Any input?

Instead of filing law suit separately,

We can file law suit as a group. Or we can write a group letter to congressmans/senators to ask them put more resources on name check.
