Initiated USCIS case status inquiry: 7/28/2004
Received USCIS reponse dated: 8/16/2004

USCIS response was the typical "... pending due to delay
in routine security checks; can take an indefinite amount of
time" response.

Called FBI FB inquiry line to check on status of FP2 (taken
1/27/2004). FBI FP2 response to USCIS: 1/27/2004
(same day).

Faxed FBI name check inquiry: 8/22/2004
Received FBI name check response: 9/23/2004 (e-mail)

E-mail received today says that the FBI completed my
record check on 9/22/2004 (yesterday) and that results
were forwarded to USCIS.

Good luck to all, especially the 2001 RDs.
 
I sent the FBI a fax to 202-324-3367

has been delayed due to delays in routine security checks. My
understanding is that this may include a check under the FBI
National Name Check Program (NNCP).

I am writing this letter to inquire about the status of the NNCP
check for both myself and my wife (applicant for a derivative
I-485 Adjustment of Status application). Please find our personal
information below:

Same thing happened to me
I sent the fax, got an email after a month saying they sent the name check results the day before. (after sitting on it for 2 years)

And then 6 weeks later approval

Although I have ND 04/01/03 for my I-485 , I have not received FP yet .

Do any of you suggest me to send the FAX to FBI name check in order to create a trigger ?

How the FBI name check is related to FP ?

FP and FBI name check are two completely separate security checks. They are both initiated by USCIS, not by FBI. So, sending
an inquiry for name check to FBI will probably NOT trigger the FP.

Just a guess.
