FBI Name Check Question

does anyone know if your name got hit in FBI database or got no hit makes any difference in terms of prolonged name check process? I read somewhere over the Internet that if your name is found to match something in FBI database, no matter whether it involves a criminal conviction record or terrorist name list, your name check process will be longer than expected or at least longer than those who got nothing in FBI's database. Is that true?

nobody can answer this question exactly except FBI. my name seems unique. but, I have beenl stuck in name check for more than two months. and currently, I can not even find what is the status. :(

There is a difference

If there are no hits, the whole check is done electronically and results are going back to CIS as "no objections" in few days.
If there is a hit, they have to do a manual work pulling out all files to clarify on what is that hit about. It takes longer of course, if one is lucky, up to 90 days. If not, they may need to pull out some old "paper" files, it may take months and years to figure out that one is not that old big bad gangsta  .
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I wonder if requesting an FBI clearance for Canadian Immigration in the past might triger a "hit"! What do you guys think?

My name check took 2 years with the final result literally as "No Record found". Only FBI or GOD knows the logic.

Finger print results and name check are same? In my case, after few days of finger print done, recieved LUD that FP results received and resume processing. Is this means, FBI name check completed with "No Hit"?
If it is separate, when name check start? and how we should know?

"FP review" by FBI and "name check" by the same agency ARE separate things.

When my FP results were received according to the online status, I called CIS and asked where my application standed. They told me that they just started another "security check", which might take up to 90 days, or more :D .
