FBI NAME CHECK - Family based 485

approved I-130 in 1996
applied for 485 nov 8th 2005
stamping was completed Dec 15
received work permit & travel permit Jan
Interview completed in Mar 2006
waiting for FBI name check to complete

Can anybody tell how long it will take to complete the FBI name check to come through, we will really appreciate if somebody can reply - thanks

The longest case I know was about 4.5 years stuck in name check (NC) but this was I think employment-based case.
My friend is stuck in NC, family-based case, had interview in May 2004 (I-485 filed in Feb 2004), still waiting.
