FBI Name Check delay

My 485 was filed in Dec 2001. and is still pending. It has been undergoing an FBI name check for two years now, following teo rounds of fingerprinting. Our lawyer cannot give us any info and letters to the dept. of Homeland Sec. provide no useful info.

Has anyone been thru such a long delay? Any advice on the next course of action. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
First of all I'm not an expert, just another person who is in situation.

I don't know what is your I-485 base on. Mine was married to USC who is a fith genaeration here in the US.

I filed mine in 2003 and is stil pending due to FBI's background security check. MR. Lawyer doesn't give any info.,and MR. Husband told me to wait. and I was waitting since.

I think if your att. didn't tell you about the alternative way of dealing with situation correctly, base on my expereinces I think you should find another att.if you still want to deal with one. or take action yourself. I have to called the FBI myself to find out about my name check status/dealing with the DO directly.

Sound like I place the blem on someone else, but due to my husband I hired the second att. and the out come are similar. Give me more headache and frustrations.
