Hello,

I am an I-485 applicant with the namecheck pending since Apr/2004. The congressman's office has been trying to help me on my case by contacting FBI. Recently, NSC sent another request to FBI on my namcheck on Feb/6/2006. The following is what I received from the liason at Congressman's office in regards to that..

"I wanted to let you know that I spoke with the FBI and your name check is still pending. The Nebraska Service Center had submitted another request on February 6, 2006, for clearance; unfortunately, we don't know how much longer it will be. I'll check again in a 3-4 weeks."

Can any of you, based on your experience, tell me if the new request(Feb/06) is going to override the earlier request by NSC (Apr/04)? Does that mean my case will be pushed back in the queue with other 2006 pending cases??

Appreciate your thoughts...

I am in the same situation, 1st NC sent in Oct 2003, 2nd sent in July 2005, both are still pending.....
I suppose, no harm in sending 2nd one, I hope they would not wait for BOTH of them, just for one to clear first, but I really do not see how 2nd request can help.

I will think the 2nd NC request is purely a request to expedite NC from FBI, which will not affect any pending one with FBI before.

GC_008,

How much time did the congressman's office take to get back to you? That is, when did you send the papers and when did you get this reply?
