Do any one know which form to use for FBI fingerprinting. I have contacted my local police station, most of them ask for which FBI fingerprint form i wanna use. Could you please let me know which form I have to use here in USA.

you have to tell them that you need Finger Prints for Canada Immigration and not for US Immigration. If the police station dont carry the forms, you can always go to your local FBI office and request forms.
 
You just need to go to police station with letter from Canadian authorities.

Almost all police stations take finger prints. You need to send those finger prints o FBI; which will return to you either with certificate or with the same finger prints with stamp saying that you don't have any criminal records.

You need to send the same to Buffalo.

In my case I applied in India and came to US before that come. So I transfered my file for Canada from India to USA and so I don't think my case processing time will give you any idea.

canada_1111, which is your citiy/state ?

Sometime police station denies to do that. In my case, they denied. I am staying in Illinois. I visited even Illinois state main police office. They denied me. At last, I visited private firm for finger printing services.

You can find private firm for finger printing services in your area from telephone directory. They will charge $2 for blank form and $18 to take your finger prints on that paper.
 
Hi,

I have received an interview call on March 1st from the LA office. Among other documents, they've asked me to bring along police certificates. I did send these certificates from FBI when I filed my application in Feb 2002. Do I need to get the police clearance certificates again ??

Also please let me know what kind of documentation / format is needed for demonstrating proficiency in English. I have been living and working in the US for almost past six years, will that be enough ?

I am in CA. Police station does fingerprinting but they are saying that they are not sure if what they have is FBI Fingerprinting form. I have also called FBI office and they told me that i have to get it from the address Candian Paper says. I don't know. I am confused. Should i just go to Police Station and ask them to take my fingerprint on whatever they have or should i wait untill I get my fingerprinting form FBI office.

Hi Canada_111,

I am in San Diego, California and i went to the County Sherrif department to get the FBI Fingerprinting done. Basically they took my fingerprint on the FBI Fingerprint card and filled with information regarding who took the fingerprint and location where the fingerprint taken. I sent the card to FBI office which is the one shown on Canada Immigration Website. It took about 4 weeks for them to return back with results.

So simple thing you can do is locate any Sherrif's/Police county office that does administrative stuff and ask them you need to have ur fingerprints taken on the FBI Fingerprint card and they will help you.
 
I have seen just 1 kind of forms for finger printing; which you have to send to FBI.

Correct me if I am wrong.

It would be nicer if you have given your city or near by big city. then list could be reduced. Anyway, Enjoy big list.

Just spend $20 and save your energy and time instead fo visitng different police stations.

You can see your local city's telephone directory and check under IMMIGRATION or FINGERPRINT category.

As California is next to Mexico, so so many immigrants and more such service required.

You need to have a California Department of Justice livescan done for that interview. out can find out more from the California Attorney General web site and get the form there. If nothing on your record it should be very quick
