Does anybody know how long it takes the FBI to do fingerprint check for Canada immigration purposes?

Is the cost still $18. Is there is a way to contact the FBI to find out the status of the fingerprint?

yes. it is still $18 per application. It will take you 4-6 weeks from the date of application.

No..there is no status mechanism other than calling the West Virginia field office I guess (but dont do that...they are good with the turnaround)
 
I would say 6 to 8 weeks now a days. There is a phone number of FBI where you can check your status but you will have to search this forum.
 
FBI Fingerprints

I was told by the local agent who runs the finger printing business that it takes 10 weeks approximately to get back the FBI fingerprint results. I have applied on Oct 3rd week and still waiting for it.
