FBI clearing up 2002/2003 back logs. So recent applications will be delayed

Hi,
I have called the FBI main line to enquire about my namecheck status and the lady who picked up told me that fbi is presntly working on clearing up the 2002/2003 backlogs and that all the requests after the 2003 will have to wait.
Did any one else get the same respose.If it is true then all of the people after 2003 have to wait a long time.Also does it mean that noone who has applied after 2003 and applying now will get the name check cleared?I had a friend of mine whose 485 got approved and got his GC in lil over 3 months recently.So if fbi is not clearing anything recent then how can he get his GC with out getting namecheck cleared.Any thoughts on this
 
This is a very recent procedure to clear backlog. Started sometime probably in September 2005 based on what has bee ntold on this forum and my calling up the fbi few weeks ago
 
Then it seems like i am sh*t out of luck.I had my interview done recently and my interviewer said that she was just waiting on namecheck to clear to approve.But anyway does this mean the only namecheks that get cleared from now on will be from 2002/2003 backlogs ?

Not necessarily. It probably means that all those applicants who applied in 2002/03 and had a "hit" while their name was analyzed by the FBI probably are probably being processed now. There have been cases from 2005 where they cleared FBI namecheck and got GC. So its pretty random and I cant even ask you not to worry... :confused:

Please keep us posted when you get name check cleared. My DO is also San Antonio. It will give me an idea how much time we have to wait for name clearance.

Wow...this is good news. Hope they clean up the mess soon.

Yes. I filed through DORA. Through this program, you are interviewed the same day you submit your paperwork.

Hello all,
Do you know of anyone whose got fingerprinted in lastweek of september and got their GC approved in the interview.Just wanted to know if FBI is still clearing the recent cases or just working n 2002/2003 backlogs full time?
