Dear all,

I got DOS's favorable recommendation the same day they got my sponsor view. Just want to thank everyone here for your support and helpful information. I almost gave up and thought I had to go back to my home country to fulfill the rest of the 2 years...Now I can start worrying about other things.

Best luck for those who are still waiting! Remember to prepare for the worst, but never give up hope until the very end!

Congratulations!!! That must be a great relief. I am still waiting for my sponsor's views. And the problem my sponsor has already sent the views on June 6th but it still does not show on the website. How much time did it take in your case??? Does it take a long time for sponsor's views to reach them or they are not just updating the website??? I am tired and sick of waiting.

DOS requested for my sponsors view on June 6. They have still not received any reply from my sponsors. That has been my problem all along-My sponsors are against my waiver process. What can I do. They called me personnally to ask why I needed the waiver. Do you think they will write something unfavorable? What will be my options then. My parctical training ends in September

Hi disha12,

I think DOS is updating their website everyday. In my case, the waiver review division requested for sponsor views in early April, and they did not get it until 3 months later according to my online case status. However, I do not know when my sponsor sent their views since I have no idea who my sponsor is!

It seems to be a bit weird that they did not get it one month after the sponsor sent it. You may want to contact them, making sure that the letter did not get lost on the way. Or is it possible for you to ask your sponsor to resend it?

Good luck!

Wendy

Hi Metoo99,

The time sponsors take to respond may vary greatly. Mine was 3.5 months and it can be as long as 8 months, according to the posts here. It seems the sponsor views are important for waiver application. If you could enlist their support, it would be very helpful! In your case, the sponsor called personally, and I think at least they gave you the opportunity to defend your waiver application, which I believe is a good sign.

On the other hand, important as sponsor views are, I am not exactly sure how much they impact DOS’ decisions in different cases. Because the J1 program I attended was really short, I guess it may have helped…

Anyway, good luck! And do not give up until the very end!

Wendy

Thank you Wendy123,

I guess I have to keep my fingers crossed then, and pray they respond and also hope that the respond will be positive. I am a bit tensed because my practical training ends on 15th September 2006.
