Friends,

I am doing an academic training at a private company in NJ. My academic training is going to expire in early November. Previously I applied for a J-1 waiver when I was in North Carolina and just recieved a receipt notice (May 9) from USCIS in Texas. The company where I am doing my academic training is in NJ and they are going to apply for an H-1B for me to the Vermont center.

Looking at the previous messages, it looks like one can apply for H-1B with a favorable recommendation from DOS. Now that I have the favorable recommendation and the USCIS (Texas) receipt in hand, I am trying to get answers to the following questions:

- I am planning to call USCIS (Texas) where they have my waiver application and let them know about my move to NJ. Would this delay their processing of my waiver application?
- Can I still apply for H-1B to the Vermont Center while my waiver application is pending at the Texas center?
- If so, would it be better to include both the favorable recommendation and the USCIS receipt rather than just the favorable recommendation?

Please let me know your thoughts, experiences on the matter. Thank you very much. Regards,

Ediz Batmaz

It looks to me that DOS processes waiver applications within couple of days from the receipt date and issues a favourable recommendation.
I just applied for J-1 waiver, and my status check page shows following:
Fee Received May 17, 2006
Form DS-3035 Received May 17, 2006
Form DS-2019 Received May 17, 2006
Passport Data Page Received May 17, 2006
Letter of Representation Received May 17, 2006
Statement Of Reason Received May 17, 2006
Other Received May 17, 2006

Here, I do not see receipt date for No Objection from the embassy. My question is, when you checked your waiver application status online, did it show information on No objection letter?
If there is anyone who did status check online, please answer or post your status description. I am worried whether or not embassy sent No Objection letter or not.
Thanks,
