Father sponsoring a daughter (over 21)

My grandmother applied for my father's green card in 2002 and at the time, a petition was filed for me (and I was under 21 at the time). His application has only been processed now and my name has been cancelled because I am now 25. Is there anything we can do to push a petition for me (or does he have to use his green card to then apply for me from scratch - a process that will take over 7 years)? Would it be faster if I applied for a master's there?

I am out of the US, currently working in the Middle East. Just checked on those details, so as far as I know the I-130 hasn't been officially approved as of yet since we just got a letter telling us that the petition is being looked at. I guess that will only happen once he goes for the interview, etc? However, I have checked and our petition was filed after the CSPA was passed.

For cases where the intending immigrant is outside the US and would be interviewed at a consulate, the I-130 must be approved before the interview is scheduled. For a case such as your father's, where he was (presumably) over 21 when petitioned by his parent, typically the wait from I-130 approval until the interview is YEARS. With this case having been filed in 2002, it's almost certain the I-130 was approved years ago, and now the processing is for setting up the final formalities with the consulate.
