Fast Processing of Reentry Permit

Can anyone give some legitimate examples of the reasons for the request for fast processing of reentry permit to INS?

How to present them to INS to the best benefits of applicants?

Thanks for you inputs.

Well, normally what you said is right, JoeF, but this application has been pending for almost 1 year, which is ridiculously long.
If I had left the country immediately after initial filing (fortunately, this wasn't the case), I still wouldn't have got it for re-entering the US.

I did already. The congressman suggested sending her a paragraph explaining the reasons for fast processing. That's why this new thread was posted. So, any idea JoeF? Fortunately, I am still physically in this country, otherwise, it will be a nightmare.

Well, JoeF you say that talk to the congressman - all that is good and fine. But what would a person who has applied for re-entry permit do; if he has left the US - it is already 11 months; and they havenot received the re-entry permit.
Will they loose the GC if they continue outside the US after the 12th months?
Will INS consider it acceptable to stay since the re-entry permit is pending?

So you see, experience shows that you can never trust INS or rely on them for anything. These guys are not there to help you at all. Just in the case if someone cannot return within the 12 months timeframe, he/she will be in trouble without receipt of re-entry permit.
